WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) announced today that the Verdunville Volunteer Fire Department has received a $70,762 Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The money will be used to purchase self-contained breathing apparatuses for firefighters.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) announced today that the Lenore Volunteer Fire Department has received a $112,058 Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The money will be used to purchase personal protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatuses for firefighters.

The grant will be used to purchase equipment and pay for overtime. The grant program is commonly referred to as Byrne JAG grants.
