WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) issued the following statement today on President Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to the United States Supreme Court:
“My initial review of the judicial record of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland, raises serious questions about his positions on issues important to West Virginia and the people I represent. As a D.C. Circuit Court judge, Garland has supported the Environmental Protection Agency and its overreaching, job-killing agenda. His record suggests he will be an ally in this administration’s war on coal. I urge our U.S. senators to reject President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.”
