REP. JENKINS: PRESIDENT’S VETO PUTS POLITICS AHEAD OF JOBS
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s veto of S.J.Res. 22, which would block the EPA’s implementation of the Waters of the United States rule:
“Once again, the president is putting his environmental agenda and personal politics ahead of the needs of the people of West Virginia. The Waters of the United States rule has nothing to do with protecting drinking water; it is yet another attempt by the federal government to impose more regulations on West Virginians. This rule, crafted without input from the states, would expand the role of the federal government while killing jobs. The president’s veto is both expected and disappointing, and I will continue to fight to stop the EPA’s overreach into our states,” Rep. Jenkins said.
