REP. JENKINS: ENCOURAGED BY PROGRESS ON NEW RIVER TRAIN
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) continues to be encouraged by progress on preserving the New River Train. Amtrak officials and the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society met Monday to continue discussions.
“I’m encouraged by the progress made at Monday’s meeting toward reaching an agreement to run the New River Train this year. It’s important that all sides keep talking until a deal is reached, and I’m hopeful that will be very soon. This train, this heritage, and this festival are all too important to lose,” Rep. Jenkins said.
