REP. JENKINS ASKS HUD TO AWARD GRANT FOR HUNTINGTON-FAIRFIELD PROJECT
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) today urged the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Administration to award Huntington a grant to help revitalize Huntington’s Fairfield neighborhood.
Rep. Jenkins spoke with HUD Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Housing Dominique Blom on Wednesday to express his strong support for the Huntington Housing Authority’s application for a HUD Development Choice Neighborhoods Planning and Action grant. He has also contacted HUD Secretary Ben Carson to bring Huntington’s grant application to his attention.
The city has applied for a grant of up to $1.3 million to implement the city’s Fairfield Choice Neighborhood Revitalization project.
“I was very pleased with the conversation I had with Deputy Assistant Secretary Blom about how important this funding is for the city of Huntington. The Fairfield Choice Neighborhood Revitalization project is an important step forward for our community, and I will continue to push for funding for this important grant,” Rep. Jenkins said.
