REP. JENKINS ANNOUNCES NICHOLAS COUNTY GRANT
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) announced today that the Nicholas County Airport Authority has received a $150,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration for improvements to the Summersville Airport.
The grant will be used to build 820 feet of fencing and gates to enhance the safety and security of the airport.
“Recreational tourism brings many charter flights to the Summersville Airport, which plays an integral role in connecting Nicholas County to communities across West Virginia and surrounding states. This grant will make the airport’s grounds more secure and allow flights to operate safely and efficiently, and I offer my congratulations to the Nicholas County Airport Authority,” Rep. Jenkins said.
